BMW R-Series Motorycles

Some people when you say BMW they immediately think of their cars. Others immediately think of their motorcycles. Indeed their motorcycles are as good as their cars, ask any owner of either one.

BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke or in English would mean Bavarian Motor Works. BMW motorcycles are manufactured in Germany, although some of the engines are outsourced, so there is strict control of manufacture. BMW produces various models of motorcycles including F, G, R, and K series with various displacements up to 1300 cc. They include everything from off road motorcycles to the sleekest highway models.

BMW R series motorcycles first came out in 1932 and BMW R series motorcycles have been in continuous production ever since except for some interruption due to World War Two. The BMW R series motorcycles presently have a two cylinder so called "boxer" engine of 1200 cc displacement. The newer BMW K series motorcycles have been introduced with a four cylinder engine of 1200 cc and 1300 cc.

While BMW motorcycles might not be as well known as some of the American and Japanese brands, make no mistake about their quality and reliability. Owners of BMW motorcycles are as proud of their motorcycles as BMW car owners are of their cars. BMW motorcycles are sleek and quiet and they have lots of established dealers and repair depots in the United States and elsewhere.
